Hawthorne to administer COVID vax in Phase 2

Hawthorne Pharmacy is enrolled to provide COVID vaccinations to the greater Midlands area. The pharmacy locations are currently anticipating receiving the Moderna vaccine, which is approved for individuals 18 and older.

Hawthorne, a provider of a variety of vaccines, met the CDC’s requirements to be a COVID vaccine provider and will be offering the vaccine in Phase 2. Phase 2 will include all people who wish to be vaccinated.

"While we hope to receive the vaccine soon for Phase 2, we are waiting for more information from the CDC. Our goal will be to administer the vaccine to our patients as soon as we are able to,’ said Charlotte Anderson, PharmD for Hawthorne Pharmacy.

Anderson and others at the Hawthorne locations are preparing our staff and stores to administer the vaccinations while waiting for the supply of the vaccine itself from McKesson.

Once Hawthorne receives our supply, we will provide more information regarding the vaccinations, such as:

• the process for registering for the vaccine
• the type of vaccine that will be offered
• when our locations will begin administering the vaccine

We continue to ask our patients to take steps to prevent the spread. Making sure to wear your mask, getting tested and staying home when you’re sick, avoiding large gatherings and practicing physical distancing are a few ways to keep you and your loved ones safe.
