Lourie Center Hosts 2022 Fall Festival, A Health and Wellness Expo

The Lourie Center will host its annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 9 am -12 pm. This health and wellness expo will offer a variety of organizations and businesses representing their services to the senior community as well as music and dance performances. The 2022 theme is “A Motown Morning" and the event will feature DJ Sherry Maw, Motown musician impersonators, a modern dance performance, a classic car display from the Sandlapper Antique Auto Club, and many door prizes. The health and wellness services that morning include resource information, flu shots and Moderna bivalent COVID booster shots (courtesy of Hawthorne Pharmacy), and blood pressure screenings. The first 150 seniors to arrive will receive a ticket for a free box lunch to takeaway beginning at 11:30 am.

For the safety of the community, the festival will be set in a socially distant format, and the Lourie Center Fall Festival will once again be an indoor experience. This is a FREE event for seniors, their grown children, senior groups, and the general public to attend. Carpooling is encouraged. The Fall Festival is an annual fundraiser, with all proceeds from sponsors and the attending senior businesses supporting Lourie Center programs.

Executive Director Sandra Owensby encourages us all to “Help Support the Lourie Center and local businesses by joining us for the annual Fall Festival. It is a fun, educational event for all of us. As always, the Fall Festival will be a spotlight on important resources and services available to seniors in the community.”
